Product and Operations Executive, up to £25k plus bonus, Norfolk  

Expanding  travel company has exciting product opportunity to join the product department of this great travel organisation

You will take over some of our current destinations in terms of overseeing them and liaising with suppliers as well as working closely with the Product team to find and plan new destinations for the portfolio.

This will involve trips out to meet with hoteliers, transportation providers, restaurants, attractions, local guides etc.

You will need to show these suppliers (especially the hotels) the value of our clients portfolio

General aspects of the job will be as follows:

  • Answer telephones to speak to customers and sell holidays
  • Learn to use the processes currently in place in the business including using computer programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word as well as our new system which we are currently implementing.
  • Gain an understanding of how to prepare tours for departure (preparing pre-departure paperwork, preparing hotel rooming lists, paperwork for Tour Managers etc.).
  • Deal with customer feedback (letters, emails and phone calls) and reply in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Telephone passengers 2 days prior to departure to see if they have any concerns or queries and to put their minds at rest.
  • Setting up all tour arrangements in advance (for some established and new products) with all suppliers including dates and times and updating suppliers.
  • Writing brochure copy
  • Monitor competitors – what are they up to (what new destinations and promotions are they running).
  • It will be your responsibility to update and oversee the tour specific paperwork being sent out to both the guests and the Tour Manager.
  • Meet regularly to discuss progress, strategies and plans. Discussions should include how sales are going on particular tours, if further mail shots/promotional activity are required to boost sales on particular holidays.
  • You will be involved in costing the holidays to ensure they are priced competitively but also profitably for the company.


  • Negotiation will be a big part of the job.
  • A good patient telephone manner is required.
  • Letter writing skills. An important part of the job is replying to both emails and letters sent in from customers dealing with praise as well as criticisms in a pro-active manner.
  • Excellent organization. It is an essential part of the job that you are well organized and keep emails in proper files within outlook which are then easily accessible. The same applies when dealing with Word
