POWDERBEDS PRODUCT MANAGER

Powderbeds.com are a fast growing Edinburgh based e-commerce travel business specialising in the online sale of hotels and apartments in ski resorts throughout France, Switzerland, Canada and the USA.. Since its launch in 2010, Powderbeds has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the UK’s leading online ski accommodation retailers.  Powderbeds.com is part of Osprey Holidays Ltd, a tour operator with a strong heritage, established in 1973.

 

The Role and Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing our hotel and apartment suppliers, selling their product and directing the product strategy. You’ll be working as part of a small team and as a result the role is very broad in scope and responsibilities are likely to change on a daily basis, so having a flexible approach to work is essential. 

 

Key Responsibilities

-          Develop and implement the PowderBeds product strategy

-          Negotiate contracts with accommodation partners

-          Work to maintain strong and trusting relationships with suppliers

-          Liaise with suppliers to ensure best possible prices

-          Negotiate offers with accommodation  suppliers

-          Manage inventory on PB extranet ensuring sufficient inventory is on sale at all times

-          Manage accommodation partners making sure their inventory is up to date

-          Train accommodation partners on how to sell effectively through PowderBeds

-          Check prices regularly to ensure we are positioned appropriately within the online marketplace

-          Use sales data to identify and report on key product and sales trends.

-          Deal with any customer service issues & complaints that may arise

 

Other responsibilities you will be required to assist with:

-          Converting customer enquiries into sales over the phone and by e-mail.

-          Delivering high level customer service

-          Customer service, speaking to customers and answering any questions

 

Key Skills

-          Attention to detail

-          Strong verbal and written communication skills

-          Personable and patient with the ability to develop strong relationships with customers and suppliers.  

-          A comprehensive understanding of  the ski industry  

-          Proficiency in French  

-          Flexible work approach  

-          The ability to see things from the customer’s perspective
