Product Manager 

Travellanda is currently recruiting in its London office for a Product Manager, to expand and develop new and existing product and services for the company.

The successful Product Manager will be an enthusiastic travel professional with strong product manager experience. You will be joining a friendly team, offering you the opportunity to play a crucial part in the successful growth of this exciting independent travel company whose goal is to shape the future of the travel industry.  

Tasks:

  • You will be focused on managing and maintaining our product inventory.
  • In charge of Product strategy, annual planning and development of the portfolio.
  • Responsible for negotiating contractual terms, new agreements, issues and monitor service level agreements with each supplier.
  • Source new suppliers and manage integration plan, including setting them up on the system, liaising with IT Manager and Content to ensure city and hotel mapping correctly inputted before turning live.
  • Set realistic KPI’s for each supplier, maximising overall performance, optimizing pricing and competitiveness.
  • Proactively source exclusive offers, free rooms, and promotions and implement tactical opportunities through strong supplier relationships.
  • Regular meetings with suppliers regarding their service level form feedback from reservation supervisor and managers.
  • Day to day queries – working together with other Travellanda teams on Bookout's, technical issues, payment queries, ensuring hotels are mapped correctly and special offers for marketing, etc.
  • Support the Commercial, Finance and Operational teams in the agreement of contracts with suppliers, including discounts, short term exclusives and amendments.
  • Working with Finance to improve relations and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Attend cross Sales department meetings – collect information about necessary destinations to improve or price specific providers – monitor competitiveness.
  • Represent Travellanda at Travel Trade shows and workshops – to procure new suppliers.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and identify new and ad-hoc products and features.

Reporting:

  • Weekly and monthly reporting – analysing data and ensuring hotels are competitive and have availability.
  • Regular updates on integration plan
  • Cross XML Suppliers – reporting at weekly meeting on issues affecting loss of business, low service in order to stop underperforming suppliers.
  • Report on booking arrivals, booking creation, booking trends, pricing and comparative analysis.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of booking systems, processes and technologies to ensure ongoing improvement of product portfolio and day to day efficiency.
  • A good understanding of the nature of the reciprocal XML integrations and software distribution platforms (Travelgate, Juniper, Travolution, etc).
  • Build and maintain strong supplier working relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and organisation skills.
  • Effective decision making – to be able to take decisions over escalated issues.
  • A strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
