A family-owned Tour Operator and highly respected Travel Company require a Purchase Ledger assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. You will be working in a friendly and close-knit team, where personal progression and professional development is encouraged. Prior experience in a similar role is essential, whilst experience working for a Travel Company is desirable.
You will be joining a small team who provide the Accounting function for the company, covering THREE distinctive travel products and brands.
*Processing accommodation, transfer and other invoices received from suppliers
*Checking invoices against the reservation system and contracts
*Processing payments through the reservation system and reconciling to the bank
*Processing sales income through the reservation system and reconciling on a daily basis
*Carrying out general administration and finance tasks within the department
*Credit control- monitoring and chasing overdue balances and preparing monthly agent statements
*Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
*A strong team player
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
*Superb attention to detail and be accurate
*High level of Microsoft Excel skill
*Ability to answer queries from suppliers and customers
*Excellent telephone manner
*Strong written English
This excellent position offers a competitive basic salary of £18,000, with generous company benefits. Hours of work are Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 5.30pm, as part of a 37 .5 hour week.
