Reconciliation Accounts Assistant - Travel Industry, London, Up to £22k

Our client is a Leading Business Travel Management Agency based in Central London who have grown substantially over the last few years. They are looking for an Accounts Assistant that has experience in reconciling bank accounts and card payments as well as performing other book keeping duties.

The responsibilities of the Reconciliation Accounts Assistant are as follows:

  • Reporting to the Finance Supervisor the Accounts Assistant will learn, apply, advise on and arrange all aspects of book keeping and related services, adhering to procedures, policies and regulations of the client, suppliers, office and statutory bodies, ensuring that reporting deadlines are adhered to.
  • To operate effectively and efficiently computerised accounting and back office systems, plus all other forms of office supplied technology.
  • To reconcile monthly supplier credit card reconciliations, allocating these off against invoices / credit notes
  • To reconcile and maintain internal suspense accounts, reconciling these against invoices/nominal ledgers
  • To post overhead invoices, verifying their accuracy prior to processing of a BACS payment.
  • To prioritise the workload to ensure that deadlines are met, whilst working neatly, accurately, quickly and calmly at all times.
  • To ensure that all end of month close down procedures are actioned and adhered to.
  • To ensure that end of financial year procedures are actioned and adhered to.

The skills required for the Reconciliation Accounts Assistant are:

  • Previous book keeping and reconciliation experience is essential
  • To demonstrate good interpersonal and telephone skills, exercising patience and understanding when dealing with clients, suppliers and colleagues at all times; and discretion when privy to information of a confidential or sensitive nature.
  • To receive and accept supervision and guidance from senior members of staff and to inform senior personnel of any complaints or operational difficulties being experienced.
  • To work as part of a team and assist in the smooth running of the office, offering support, guidance and assistance to colleagues both within the department and within the branches.
  • To demonstrate a flexible approach to the work, taking on extra work as and when required, whilst exercising a high level of professionalism at all times and promoting the services of Statesman Travel Ltd.
  • To ensure that all emails, circulars, bulletins and amendments to procedures are read, understood and actioned as soon as they are distributed.
  • Plus any other ad hoc activities related to the job as and when required.
