Our client is a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time. The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car (junctions 8-10 on the M25) or rail (Ewell West is close and the college is next to Ewell East where you can get regular direct trains to Clapham Junction and Victoria). The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of 'Good' under the robust new Ofsted standards.

They are currently recruiting to the following position:

Sports Centre Manager (up to 26,029 p.a.)

The College in Epsom is seeking to appoint an energetic and entrepreneurial person as a Sports Centre Manager. This is an ideal opportunity for a capable professional who enjoys a challenge to play a vital part in helping to develop and deliver quality services to their commercial gym and sports facilities whilst being able to demonstrate good financial sense.

The role encompasses on-going development and operation of their Sports Centre including hall and gym and also their pavilion area and football pitches. Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable and the ability to bring fresh and new ideas is a must.

The post holder will have a wide range of duties, including: the day-to-day running of the centre and devising activity programmes, promoting the centre through working with marketing department (attracting and maintaining new members and business), being responsible for the centre financial targets, supervising activities and taking responsibility for cleaning, security and health and safety, supervising and setting rotas for casual centre staff.

This is a full time position, 36 hours per week (mainly evenings and weekends - the successful applicant will be required to cover some daytime hours as the centre drives towards excellence).

They are able to offer you a final salary pension scheme, generous holidays and the facilities of a College campus set in 7 acres of green belt in a peaceful setting. The College has excellent transport links and is set in a location convenient to London and the South East and offers a large free on-site car park.
