Travel Product Manager 4 Americas  up to £35k Hampshire

A Travel  Product Manager is required to join the travel product team of an outstanding travel company. The travel product managers role will include being responsibility for all specilist  tours within a specific geographical area, managing a team to ensure that we plan, contract and operate industry leading itineraries. You will be passionate about travel the Product Manager ensures that we have on sale a range of cultural and active tours that cater to the  client demographic, whilst continuing to push the boundaries with pioneering tours that achieve the company vision . You will be  responsible for sales, tour note and brochure content for their area and for ensuring that this is both inspiring and accurate.  Each Product Manager is accountable for the overall profitability of their tours, sales growth and operating profit of all the relevant company’s products within that region.

•             To be the leader of the Americas product team, driving the team forward to achieve strategic and personal goals.

•             To develop members of the team to ensure that everyone is challenged to attain their maximum potential.

•             To be responsible for all product development within a specific geographical area and for ensuring it is based on the strategic aims of the business, and in line with the market-led product strategy briefs provided by the Business Intelligence (BI).

•             To produce accurate and inspiring brochure / web text for all tours.

•             Working alongside BI to ensure that the most appropriate product is on sale at the optimum price at all times.

•             Having a close understanding of the competitive environment.

•             To ensure that we have the very best ground costs.

•             To work closely with the Air Contracts Manager to ensure that we have the best and most appropriate air costs and routings.

•             To have ownership of all operational supplier relationships within the geographical area, and to be responsible for achieving and maintaining the very best working relationship in each case.

•             To be accountable for ensuring all products on sale within the geographical area adheres to the company’s stringent guidelines on quality, safety and responsible travel.

•             To oversee any necessary changes to itineraries. 

•             To ensure that good, regular and concise communication is maintained between the Product team and all other areas of the business.

•             To have ownership of product-based PR for the specific geographical area and to ensure that it is considered at all stages of the product cycle. To be actively and regularly involved in PR and other promotional activity.

•             To be involved with projects which cross different geographical and theme areas.

•             To provide back-up for other Product Managers.

•             To travel overseas as and when required. This is to meet our ground agents (who provide transport, accommodation and tour leaders) to negotiate and contract as well as to familiarise yourself with our itineraries and to recce new destinations or itineraries. In addition there will be the opportunity to attend trade shows.

•             Our ideal candidate will be natural leader, who is both an independent thinker and a team player.

•             They should demonstrate a record of managing and developing a team and have demonstrable experience in working to tight deadlines and under pressure.

•             It is essential that they will be able to build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels and show an ability to construct logical, credible and winning arguments that will persuade decision makers (internal and external).

•             They should be comfortable in taking responsibility to challenge current processes and participate in designing and delivering strategic growth.

•             It is important that the Product Manager should be able to quickly and decisively react to changing market conditions to continually drive towards achieving and then exceeding company and personal targets.

•             Your passion should be travel, we will be looking for a candidate who exudes enthusiasm for North, South and Central America
