Travel Sales Consultant (Call Centre) – Ayr

Our client, one of the UK's leading independent travel companies, is currently looking to recruit a number of Travel Sales Consultants to join one of their specialist travel departments in their busy call centre in Ayr.

**Please note that all Travel Sales Consultants will be provided with a comprehensive training course before taking on this exciting role

The Role

As a Travel Sales Consultant you will handle calls & travel requests from direct customers within a busy call centre environment, and primarily book packages & specialist holidays to a number of seasonal destinations. Working for an independent travel company, you will also have the ability to book non brochure holidays, and tailor-make a specific travel itinerary to match the exact needs & requirements of your customer. You will provide excellent destination & product knowledge to all customers, and help generate marketing campaigns for the team, highlighting any special offers and discounts available to your customers. You will also be required to maximise the sale of a booking through the promotion of various ancillary products.

Requirements

As a Travel Sales Consultant you will have some previous sales or reservations experience either in retail travel or within a travel call centre environment, and have the ability to work towards sales targets in the workplace. You will have previous experience booking package holidays & flights for direct customers, and previous experience booking cruises or tailor-made travel itineraries would also prove an advantage. You will be a very organised individual with good attention to details, and the ability to communicate effectively on all levels. You will also be very computer literate, be able to work well both in a team as well as on your own initiative, and have a good working knowledge of at least one in-house booking tool or database.

Salary & Benefits

Competitive basic salary on offer for the right Travel Sales Consultant, along with a great commission structure and good on target earnings. You will also benefit from some great company benefits such as travel discounts & incentives, and up to 6 week annual leave.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30 & 11:30 – 20:00, Saturday & Sunday 09:00 – 18:00 (5 days)
