Commis Waiter / Waitress
To work in our beautiful 2 Rosette Oak Room Restaurant

Tylney Hall is a beautiful 4 red star hotel in 66 acres of stunning grounds and gardens set in rural Hampshire.

Position Overview:

This is a full time permanent role. The ideal Commis Waiter / Waitress will provide the highest service levels to all of our guests, maintaining our AA Four Red Star standard. As a Commis Waiter / Waitress you will need to be work effectively at all times ensuring attention to detail and exceptional customer service with subtle selling technique. Your 'can do' attitude which you will use with guests and with your team members will be one of your biggest strengths.

This role is based within the Restaurant team. The successful candidate will help serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Our Commis Waiters / Waitresses also ensure that the mis en place is ready - cutlery polished, butters cut, napkins folded, restaurant cleaned and the tables laid to an impeccable standard to list just a few duties! The shifts are 'split' shifts normally due to the nature of our business - this means that you will normally be on duty twice for around 4 hours per day. Eg. 11am - 2.30pm and 6.30pm - 11pm. You will need to be available for work 5 days out of 7, and this will include week ends and bank holidays.


You will need a good command of English (verbal and written). Previous experience in a customer service role is desirable as is having exposure in a food and beverage environment.

You will need to have excellent attention to detail and be 'standards' driven. You will be extremely well presented. You will be able to cope well under pressure; this, like other Food and Beverage areas can have peaks and troughs.

Own transport is essential as we are in a rural location (live in option available for the right candidate.)
