General Manager Specialist Tour Operations

Basic to £44,000, OTE £55 75K
This specialist tour operator offer high quality FIT tours worldwide. Working as part of the senior management team, this role will be responsible for creating and delivering business strategy to ensure the business delivers excellent results as efficiently as possible. Responsibilities will include:
-Planning and leading the departmental business plan, identifying and exploiting commercial and product opportunities
-Creating and sustaining a highly motivated team, creating a culture of engagement and openness
-Creating a positive and competitive sales environment where excellence is promoted, recognised and rewarded
-Ensuring product price and breadth is maintained in all market segments
-Remaining up to date with competitor pricing,
-Working jointly with the Marketing Manager to manage the timely production of brochures
-Working with e-commerce to determine website content
-Assisting positively in crisis or operational incidents, taking initiative and responsibility for departmental issues
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a successful team in the travel industry. Applicants must be commercially minded; competitor focused and possess high amounts of initiative to deal with challenges.
