Job Description

Job Purpose:
Ensure the successful and ongoing planning, creation, development and commercial management of travel products for defined geographical areas (component and packaged market) that meet company objectives in terms of revenue and margin contribution and that satisfy the target market in terms of suitability, quality and value, using suitable sales and distribution channels. Maximise load factors, guarantee recovery and yield for these products while minimizing the risks and increasing profitability.

Product Management
* Represent a point of ownership and have accountability for designated geographical areas within the organization, particularly taking pride in the performance of these products.
* Ensure the quality standards are met and maintained within the product portfolio.
* Ensure excellent system housekeeping throughout the product life cycle.
*Ensure the correct system set up and commercialization of products.

Product Planning
* Audit current product in terms of quality and commercial performance.
* Plan and communicate product content for future seasons
* Assist in the research, initiation and management of product developments and product enhancements.

Product Marketing
* Manage on and offline presentation of products.
* Liaising with relevant departments to optimize on and offline PR ad marketing, through all stages of the product lifecycle.
* Communicate special offers and product offers to both trade and direct marketing.

Pricing
* Ensure costing of product is correct prior to pricing.
* Implement pricing actions for designated product areas to ensure target margins are met.
* Regularly conduct price comparisons and communicate to the business our price position.

Commercial
* Represent a point of ownership and have accountability for designated geographical areas, particularly taking pride in how these areas are performing against agreed commercial objectives.
* Implement pricing actions based on rate of sale, profit margin and residual hotel beds and flight seats.
* Review performance or product against target margin, identifying opportunities to increase revenue/ margins.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Strong commercial acumen
* Enthusiasm for travel and the success of designated products
* Numerical and analytical skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, e mail and internet
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good communication skills
* Aptitude to learn new systems and processes with the ability to adapt and change
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and within a team
* Minimum education A level standard, Degree level education and/or experience in a travel related role preferred.
