To provide TUI UK & Ireland Mainstream with a clear IT strategy that is a key part of the overall business strategy. Included within the IT strategy, ensure IT has a clear 3-5 year plan and associated technology and solution roadmaps.
Active member of the IT Leadership Team providing strategic technology leadership and innovation.
Active role across the business leading ideation and innovation activities where technology provides a differentiating capability. Differentiation may be in terms of areas such as functionality, cost and speed.
What You'll Be Doing
To define and maintain the IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture with periodic reviews according to business/technology driven need. (minimum review annually)
To manage delivery of assigned IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture deliverables
To input into the strategic part of the IT systems plan (minimum annually)
To bring ideation and innovation to the business through active engagement across the business in order to understand business requirements and share ideas as to business opportnities
To work with other Architects across the TUI group to maximise best practice and potential IT synergies which offer value for TUI UK
To promote and assist in the delivery of architectural and systems delivery best practice in the IT
To ensure that the IT strategy for TUI UK is aligned to the business strategy by developing appropriate relationships with assigned business stakeholders and proactively demonstrating innovation opportunities to the business and developing peer to peer relationships with other parts of TUI IT e.g. Group, NE etc
To accelerate IT delivery capability through the production of a flexible architecture and promotion of appropriate delivery methods to increase re-use and eliminate duplication and re-work
Analyse technology trends and gather market place / industry intelligence from external sources in order to assess their suitability for incorporation into the IT strategy and as business enablers for innovation
Evaluate tools, products and architecture making recommendations and incorporating approved items into the IT standards and guidelines
Develop a centre of excellence in IT Architecture providing support and guidance to projects where required
To produce, maintain and monitor adherence to IT technology standards and guidelines through leadership of the appropriate architecture governance Architecture Review Board
To provide a level of overall TDA (Technical Design Authority) for relevant key strategic initiatives
Support the establishment of a team through mentoring colleagues in achieving the objectives
Help keep the team focused and support them in achieving objectives
Encourage open communication in the team

What We're Looking For
IT Enterprise Architecture Definition and Delivery
Outstanding inter-personal skills that allow highly effective engagement across all areas of the business
Practitioner level knowledge of at least two of the following : - Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Application Architecture and Technology Architectures
Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and Tools
Good knowledge of travel industry including future trends
Excellent knowledge of major IT technologies in use at TUI UK including web, client server, mainframe being regarded as a domain expert in at least one key area and with good knowledge of other technologies in order to provide an end to end view
