Do you have experience booking groups? Are you a well organised individual with a travel background? Our client is a prestigious educational institution who are seeking an experienced travel professional with excellent organisational and operational abilities. This excellent role would suit somebody with good groups experience along with knowledge of risk-assessment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Travel Coordinator you will be responsible for overseeing the planning of school trips to ensure the trips comply with educational, safety, and financial objectives. To assist faculty and staff with their professional development and business travel and accommodation. This is a Monday to Friday role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A. Liaison with specialist school travel companies and other agencies to book travel and accommodation for overnight trips.

B. For authorised overseas trips, ensuring faculty and staff comply with institution procedures on a timely basis in respect of:
Health & safety risk assessments and medical information
Finance cost of trips is within budget and, where relevant, all trips are properly billed
Communication with parents and chaperones

C. Researching and proposing the best travel and accommodation options for each overseas trip.

D. Researching and proposing the best travel and accommodation options for faculty and staff undertaking overseas professional development and/or going on school-related business trips.

E. Negotiating rates with suppliers and building relationships with suppliers to create loyalty.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with students and have an understanding of the needs of young travellers. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work unsupervised and to have confidence to deal directly with any problems that may arise.
