Job Description

Are you an ambitious Travel Consultant, with a driven passion for longhaul travel? That's right, no more bucket and spade! Longhaul Travel Sales Consultant required for this leading name in the travel industry, located in Sunderland.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
A suitably experienced candidate is required, working as a travel specialist within a dedicated Worldwide department, liaising directly with customers, over the telephone, meeting their tailor-made requirements.
This is a centrally located position, working 37.5 working hours, per week. The opening hours are 08:00 - 21:00, Monday to Friday and 09:00 - 21:00, Saturday and Sunday rotated on a shift basis.
Candidates living in the Sunderland, Durham, Newcastle, Tyne & Wear, etc, area's live in great locations, for this role.

Responsibilities include:
- Receiving inbound calls, delivering first class levels of customer service.
- Selling longhaul and tailormade travel packages.
- Working towards and exceeding targets.
- Contributing towards the sales and profit targets of the department.
- Using and continuously developing your product knowledge.
- Using your sound knowledge of longhaul destinations, including USA, Caribbean, UAE, Indian Ocean, Far East and Africa.
- Using strong rapport building and sales skills.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The successful candidate will be driven, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable and possess a high standard of customer service.
You will also have solid product knowledge and be confident in talking about, and selling, Worldwide long-haul destinations. A proven tack record in reaching / exceeding targets, delivering excellent customer service and to have a real drive & passion for travel are also required.
Some GDS knowledge, preferably Amadeus, is an advantage or Galileo, Worldspan, Sabre are also good to have, however training can be given.
You must be sales focused, with a 'can-do', positive attitude.
